Are there any cheaper smartwatches available?
When it comes to buying a smartwatch, generally you hear about the big names like the Apple Watch, Android Wear watches or even the Pebble. Of course, there are plenty of other names too like the Neptune Pine, Razer Nabu series, Samsung Gear and many more.
What if you don’t care about the brand? What if you want a cheaper device that can offer the same features?
Believe it or not, there are a few generic options out there. They don’t have a well-known name, and they may not be made with premium materials — like Apple’s devices — but they still get the job done. Some of you may even want to test the waters with a cheaper smartwatch before spending $300 or more on a premium one. It makes sense, after all they have been created mostly for convenience. It’s tough to say whether or not you’ll enjoy using one unless, well you’ve tried them out.
That’s why we compiled a list of the top 20 smartwatches for under $110. Surely, if you’re in the market for a budget smartwatch you can find something in this list.
The Best Smartwatches for Under $110
Please keep in mind these are in no particular order. In fact, they’ve merely been arranged in descending order of price. If you want something cheaper, head further down the list.
1. New Arrival 316L Bluetooth Smartwatch
This generic Bluetooth smartwatch is actually a standalone device which means it can make — and receive — calls without a smartphone connected. It supports GSM bands 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. It includes a 1.6″ touchscreen display, an integrated 1.3 MP camera and a variety of modern features.
This is the most expensive smartwatch on the list at $109.
2. SNEER “iWatch” Series Smartwatch
You’ll notice that a lot of the generic smartwatches look similar in design and style.
This one is no different despite the fact that it sports the “iWatch” moniker in its name. It features a 1.54″ touchscreen display and a variety of other features. Support for GSM bands of 850M/900M/1800M/1900M frequencies means that it can also operate as a standalone device. Again, a standalone device means it can make — and receive — calls without a smartphone connected. It can also connect to the internet and send/receive SMS, emails and more.
This watch is slightly cheaper than the last at $99.
3. Ematic All-in-One Smartwatch
Unlike the two devices above, the Ematic smartwatch is not standalone. It is designed to pair directly with Android smartphones to receive notifications, messages and more.
It’s equipped with a 1.5″ touchscreen display and 4GB of internal storage. As you’d expect, it can also track fitness and rest (sleep) data.
It’s $90 if you decide you want one.
4. CIYOYO U8S Smartwatch
The CIYOYO U8S is a generic Bluetooth enabled smartwatch. It’s compatible with a wide variety of Bluetooth 2.0 enabled phones including devices running iOS, Android (2.3+), Windows Phone and Blackberry. At its core, the CIYOYO had a 1.48″ capacitive TFT LCD touchscreen display.
The smartwatch offers a slew of standard features including notifications, texts, calls and alerts on your wrist (when paired with a compatible handset). Other features include music playback and controls, hands-free operation, and more. The CIYOYO smartwatch includes a barometer, altitude meter, passometer, and vibration support.
You can pick it up for around $90.
5. Koolertron Smartwatch
The Koolertron is another generic standalone smartwatch — that happens to be unlocked for use with any carrier — and is compatible with GSM bands 850/900/1800/1900MHz. It has a 1.3″ touchscreen display, 4GB of internal storage and a 0.3MP camera — which you probably won’t use often. It works just fine on its own thanks to the mobile connectivity support — meaning you can make and receive calls — but you can also pair it with a smartphone to receive notifications.
This smartwatch is about $85.
6. inDigi Universal Bluetooth Smartwatch
The inDigi Smartwatch has received the “universal” moniker because it’s compatible with all Android 2.3+ and iOS 4.0+ smartphones. When paired up you can receive messages, notifications, contact info and more. You can also make and receive calls from the device, provided it’s paired up with a smartphone.
It comes with a slick leather wristband, which is something you won’t find with a lot of the other generic smartwatches on this list.
If you want one, they’re selling for about $80.
7. E-Prance Mobile Phone Bracelet
The E-Prance “mobile phone” does include common smartwatch features, although the design is in the form of a bracelet instead of a wristwatch. The name is a bit misleading considering this device cannot make — or receive — calls without a connected smartphone. It will display caller ID info, the time and select notifications.
You can purchase one of these for about $75.
8. iLepo Android Smartwatch
The iLepo smartwatch is powered by the Android OS, but interestingly enough it’s compatible with both Android and iPhones devices. Unfortunately, SMS sync is not available for iPhones.
It features a 1.54″ touchscreen display and operates as a smartwatch. That means you can receive notifications, messages (Android only), emails and even calls when you’re paired to a smartphone.
The iLepo is about $70.
9. PGD Mobile Phone Watch
The first thing you’ll notice about the PGD Mobile Phone Watch is that it comes in several striking colors; pink is the most popular. It includes a 1.54″ touchscreen display, and a 1.3MP camera.
It operates like a smartwatch and can pair with smartphones to deliver notifications, alerts, messages and more right on your wrist. The company does advertise SIM card support, which means it should be able to operate as a standalone device with a phone connected. That said, there’s no information about supported wireless bands.
This plain but slick looking smartwatch works with all Bluetooth 3.0 enabled devices. You will need to install compatible apps on your device but once that’s done you’ll gain remote access to notifications, alerts, and messages.
It will set you back about $55.
11. LEMFO S28 Smartwatch
The LEMFO S28 was designed to mimic the style of Samsung’s Gear smartwatches, and just looking at it — it’s pretty close. When it comes to mobile support, this generic smartwatch is much better — as Samsung’s watches only work with Samsung devices. The LEMFO is compatible with iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry smartphones.
It features a 1.54″ capacitive TFT LCD touchscreen display. If you don’t want to use it in combination with a smartphone it works with TF and SIM cards to offer basic wireless network functionality. In addition, the S28 includes standard features such as notifications, texts, calls and alerts on your wrist (when paired with a compatible handset). Other features include music playback and controls, hands-free operation, and more. The device includes a barometer, sleep monitor, altitude meter, passometer, and vibration support.
If you want one, you’ll have to pony up about $55.
12. NewNow Wristwatch
The NewNow is a Bluetooth-enabled watch that can connect with a variety of mobile devices include Android and iPhone smartphones. Unlike some of the other watches on this list, the NewNow will only receive calls and it includes an integrated mic so you can answer them on your wrist. It does need to be paired to a smartphone for this feature to work, however.
The NewNow will cost you about $40.
The LEMFO Uu Smartwatch has a unique name and style, much more so than a lot of the devices on this list. It supports a variety of smartphone notifications and alerts including SMS, MMS, Gmail, CNN APP, ZAKER LINE, Facebook, QQ, V Message and many more. It also includes remote camera options, a pedometer, Bluetooth music playback, call support (make and receive), and more.
It’s a great little smartwatch that will only set you back about $50. The best part is that it’s about as fully-featured as some of the most expensive devices on the market.
There You Have It!
Those are some of the best budget and generic smartwatches you’ll find available. Of course, this is not a comprehensive list there are plenty of other options out there. If you think there’s a smartwatch or model we missed feel free to give a shout in the comments.
Briley, can you help me get a ph# and / or address for LightningFox?
I know the watches are new and there’s not a lot to them, there is so much that can be done to make them better. I am curious though, are there any stand-alone smartwatches that have google play pre-installed that can support netflix, hulu, amazon music etc, as well as having a decent camera with an LED flash?
