The Garmin Epix is a full color mapping GPS/GLONASS device. It does have smartwatch features � like the ability to receive notifications and alerts and customize apps � but those are extra features. The 1.4-inch high-resolution color touchscreen was meant to show GLONASS and satellite basemaps for extreme athletes and explorers. The 8GB of internal storage can be used to download and access TOPO U.S. 24K and BirdsEye Satellite Imagery maps. It also has an altimeter, barometer, and 3-axis compass for additional tracking. A water rating of 50 meters means you can take it in the water too � just don�t go too deep.
