The Pebble is one of the first and most popular smartwatches funded through Kickstarter. It delivers phone notifications including SMS, social and call logs. It does support apps, but they are proprietary and have to be developed specifically for the pebble. You can use the watch to do other things like control media playback, set and dismiss alarms, and track fitness stats. In 2014 Pebble is set to launch an official app store which will feature a wide selection of apps developed just for the device. It has no touchscreen display and instead, uses e-paper or e-ink to display information in grey colors. It connects to devices using Bluetooth, and is compatible with Android and iOS handsets.
