‘Tis the season of thanks, the season of cheer, and the season of giving. What better gift to offer your loved one than a wearable or smartwatch?
There are so many different models and variations to choose from that it can be absolutely overwhelming. It doesn’t help that the hottest gifts this year will be a piece of wearable tech like a smartwatch or fitness tracker. That’s because they are everywhere now, and they have grown incredibly popular.
As soon as you get a smartwatch on your wrist it’s no wonder why they’re so popular, either. They are truly convenient, especially when they’re used to break your constant tether to smartphone notifications and alerts.
If you’re looking for the perfect smartwatch to buy your wife this holiday season, then you’ve come to the right place. Normally, you might have a tough time finding smartwatches for women, or feminine tastes. Lately, a few models have been released that not only look a lot better, but feel much better in terms of comfort. As our own Laurence Bradford explained, women generally have smaller wrists than men.
We’re going to take a look at a few smartwatches that would be great for every wife, mom, or partner, out there. We’ll also mention what kind of person each watch is meant for, and what they can expect in the way of features.

Omate Lutetia
The Omate Lutetia is one of the few smartwatches that was designed from the ground up to accommodate a more feminine style, instead of the unisex makeup we usually see.
It includes a round display that is attractive and more traditional. It also happens to be much smaller than the Moto 360, with a thickness of less than a half an inch. It comes in silver, gold, or rose gold and all models have a stylish matching wristband that resemble bracelets. The straps are interchangeable, so you can swap them out at any time if you want something different.
As for the watch, it is compatible with both Android and iOS handsets. In addition, it can handle notifications, receiving and making phone calls, voice commands, and much more.
The Lutetia is $169 and goes on sale sometime in November.
Huawei Watch
The Huawei Watch – compatible with both Android and iOS – is stylish to those with either masculine or feminine tastes. There is a variety of models to choose from including black, stainless, gold and more. In addition, you can select from a list of different bands when you order, made of either leather or steel.
As you can see, the display is round like traditional watches and looks great. It’s not so bulky that it will look like a giant blob on smaller wrists either. Huawei released a few promotional materials that show women wearing the watch, and it looks just as good, if not better than the masculine models.
You’ll have a hard time finding a better looking watch for your wife, that’s for sure.
The Huawei Watch is available now through Amazon, with the cheapest model starting at $349.99, and the most expensive weighing in at about $699 for the all gold watch with a gold-plated body and gold-plated stainless steel strap.
Samsung Gear S2
The new kid on the block is the Samsung Gear S2. After the company took a short break from producing new watches, they launched a much more attractive, rounder version of their Gear line.
The Gear S2 comes in two versions: the Classic and the Gear S2. Both feature a unique ball-bearing style bezel that rotates as a form of control. With it you can do things like dismissing mobile notifications, change menus and even swap custom watch faces.
While it does have a slightly masculine look, it’s much more acceptable than Samsung’s previous models.
The watch body is stainless steel and there are nine different strap styles to choose from, made out of rubber or leather. If you opt for the Classic model you can use third-party straps, similar to the Moto 360. If you choose the regular model you can’t swap out straps as freely, but the bands are designed to be smaller in size so they should do just fine.
The silver and dark grey models with rubber straps are $299 while the Gear S2 Classic — with a leather strap — is $349.
Moto 360 2 (2nd Generation)
The Moto 360 2 comes in two sizes: 42mm and 46mm. If you build the watch through Motorola’s Moto Maker you can customize it completely. In gold or rose gold with the unique “women’s size” lugs and a 16mm strap it looks incredibly attractive. The best part is that there’s a model designed exclusively for women.
It’s powered by Android Wear so the software experience will be the same as any other Android watch. It can receive remote notifications, alerts, messages, make and receive calls, and more. It also happens to be one of the few newer Android Wear watches that is compatible with iPhones. Of course, it will also pair up with Android smartphones too.
This time around the Moto 360 will last for a full 24 hours, which means they upgraded the battery in the second gen model. It also includes a “built-in personal trainer” that will track steps taken, calories burned and heart rate. It will also let the wearer know when they reach personal goals, and encourage them to do so.
The voice controls thanks to Google Now are superb.
The Moto 360 2nd generation model for women is $329.99.
Pebble Time Round
The Pebble Time watches are the latest from Pebble, the company responsible for one of the most popular smartwatches on the market. You may remember the success the original Pebble had when it was crowdfunded through Kickstarter?
There are three models, the Pebble Time, Pebble Time Steel, and the Pebble Time Round. We chose the Round because it looks like a regular watch. However, what makes it most appealing is that it’s remarkably thin: just 7.5mm thick, and it weighs only 28g. In comparison, the Moto 360 2 is 11.4mm thick so that should give you some idea as to how sleek this watch is.
Like the Pebble Time it includes a color display, as opposed to the original Pebble’s monochrome display.
The battery life has been slimmed down to two days total — the original Pebble can last for about a whole week on a single charge. Still, two days is a lot better than any other device on this list. Furthermore, it works with both iOS and Android handsets to deliver remote notifications, messages, alerts, and more.
The Pebble Time Round is one of the pricier Pebble watches starting at $249.99.
