Are There Any Smartwatches for Windows Phone? Updated March, 2017

This list has been updated for 2017, complete with new smartwatches for Windows Phone.

Latest Update: March, 2017

Smartwatches for Windows Phone are rare. Extremely rare.

Most smartwatches support Android and iOS only, and a select few support Blackberry.

It’s a shame because Windows Phone is just as good as the other platforms and works great with smartwatches – when it’s supported.

Windows Phone 7 is not supported and never will be because it doesn’t have the necessary Bluetooth functionality. But Windows 8 devices – and newer – are definitely supported!

Are you looking for smartwatches for Windows Phone 8 and above? Then you’ve come to the right place!

We put together a list of supported smartwatches and we will continue to update it over time.

The rumored Microsoft Smartwatch was a big deal for Windows Phone users, but then came the Band. Then the Band 2, and both disappeared with nary a whimper. Instead of waiting for something else from the company, check out these other models that support Windows Phone.

Fitbit Blaze

fitbit-blaze-smartwatchBelieve it or not, Fitbit’s smartwatch – Blaze – is compatible with Windows Phone and it works great. Keep in mind, it’s a fitness-oriented device first and a smartwatch second. That means a great deal of emphasis has been put on the fitness and health tracking features.

Most importantly, it includes GPS built-in so you can leave your phone at home and still track your run or workout.

The Blaze is about $199.

The Agent Smartwatch

Smartwatches for Windows Phone - Agent SmartwatchThis one is another Kickstarter-funded smartwatch like the Pebble. But it’s on our smartwatches for Windows Phone list because it works with the platform.

Agent looks like the Pebble, except it resembles a more traditional watch.

It connects to smartphones using Bluetooth 4.0, and pulls notifications in real-time. You can receive alerts like incoming calls, messages, emails and more. The battery can last seven days under heavy use, and 30 days with only the watchface on.

The Agent supports QI wireless charging and the premium models come with a charging pad.

You can install apps on the Agent smartwatch, and it’s done via a mobile store or sideloaded using a PC. Of relevance, Pebble just announced an official app store not too long ago.

The Agent wristband comes in black with five color accents: red, blue, green, orange and grey.

Hot Watch

Hot SmartwatchWindows Phone users cannot count on official Pebble support, but they do have support from the Hot Watch makers.

The Hot Watch made our smartwatches for Windows Phone list because it is versatile. There are four different styles available, including the Basic and Curve.

But what really matters is what they can do.

The Hot Watch features:

  • Private calling
  • Gesture and music controls
  • Voice recognition: Google Voice, Cortana and Siri
  • SMS and Email Notifications
  • Social Media
  • Fitness tracking including a pedometer
  • Water resistance rating

The price depends on which model you choose. It starts at $189 for the Basic model, and goes up to $249 for the Curve.

The Vector Luna and Vector Meridian

Vector Smartwatches for Windows Phone including Luna and MeridianBeing honest, the Windows Phone doesn’t get much love from smartwatch makers. That’s why it’s so nice and refreshing to see Vector’s smartwatches for Windows Phone.

Both the Luna and Meridian are incredibly attractive. They also make use of an always-on display, with up to 30 days of battery life; two features that you won’t find anywhere else.

Other features include notifications and alerts, custom watch faces, third-party app support (like Uber) and fitness tracking. Google Fit and Apple Healthkit sync up nicely with both Vector models.

Prices range from $249-$399 depending on the model and style options you choose. Head over to Vector’s site for more info.

Pebble Smartwatches (Third-Party Support)

You can still buy Pebble devices cheap, but the company has been bought out by Fitbit and they are no longer supporting older models. Keep that in mind if you decide to go with a Pebble smartwatch.

pebble-Time-Smartwatch-Black-0-7Windows Phone 8 is not supported by the official Pebble team. But thanks to third-party developers you can access most of the features you would want or need. That’s why it made it on our smartwatches for Windows Phone list.

By downloading the app Pebble Watch Pro on your Windows Phone you can synch data and more.

What can you do exactly?

  • Receive Twitter notifications
  • View calendar notifications
  • Review network alerts
  • Battery level alerts
  • Lose or regain wireless signal (3G/4G/Wi-Fi)
  • Control music and media playback remotely

Unfortunately, the app doesn’t support notifications for incoming phone calls, SMS messages or emails. There is no support for the fitness tracking tools built into the Pebble smartwatch either.

The Microsoft Band

The Microsoft Band 2 landed, but wasn’t available for long. It made our smartwatches for Windows Phone list for obvious reasons. It works with Windows Phone 8.1 and above, and of course Android and iOS too.

Microsoft Band 2 - smartwatches for Windows PhoneThe Microsoft Band can be a simple smartwatch if you want, but it’s strengths lie in the fitness support. It can track heart-rate, calories burned, steps you’ve taken, and much more.

It’s also fully Cortana enabled, which is Microsoft’s voice assistant – like Siri. To take advantage of Cortana though, you will need a Windows 10-enabled device also.

The Microsoft Band will receive basic alerts like email, text, and calendar updates. It does not have remote calling features, so if that’s something you definitely want you’ll need to get something else.

The Microsoft Band 2 was $249 at launch, but it’s likely much cheaper now – if you can find it.

Kreyos Meteor

The Kreyos Meteor was on our original list of smartwatches for windows phone, which is why we are still including it here. However, it was considered a scam by many as project backers never received their device. You can read more about it here.

Kreyos Meteor in WaterKreyos’ Meteor smartwatch supports Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8 devices. Kreyos has dubbed the meteor as a two-way voice and gesture control communicator.

It features a 1.26-inch LCD screen in an e-paper color format. The device has physical buttons, voice commands and even simple gestures. You can move your hand in various directions while wearing the watch to perform actions.

Notification support means you can receive smartphone alerts in real-time.

Currently, the Meteor doesn’t support custom apps, but there are a lot of features built in like fitness tracking.

You can also swap out the main face for one of twenty different styles. Plus, when you buy the watch there are five different color styles to choose from.

You can pre-order the Kreyos Meteor for $169.95, and the first deliveries will go out from January to March, 2014.

Well, over a year since this article and still no compatible smartwatch in sight. All of the kickstarter projects seem to be scams as they do not answer my emails inquiring about purchasing their products. Still patiently waiting for some Windows Phone support.

Pretty sure the Pebble Time is going to be compatible with Windows Phone which includes the Pebble Time and the Pebble Time Steel.

Then you have the Hot smartwatch, Swatch’s upcoming smartwatch, and several others.

Please update the above information.. Pebble was sold to Fitbit because they where in Financial difficulty and the Microsoft Band 1 and 2 has been discontinued because of very poor sales, its poor design didn’t help either.. If Microsoft want to stay in the game they should just make and release a universal smartwatch app that could connect with any watch..

The Microsoft band was great as it was compatible with all three platforms and the app was on all of them. It was the design flaw with the strap that condemned the band. I should know, I’m about to receive it back from repair/replacement for the fifth time in a year. After this, my warranty is up. Might get 3 months out of it if i’m lucky, after that its probably Fit-bit or bust. Although the Vector ones look good. Need to look up a few reviews. Also, people want more access to apps through their watches as opposed just whats available on the band. In some ways I hope Microsoft come out with a much better product that can do so much more on all devices. On the other hand after being burned here, should i really buy another band?
